Search and arrest warrant execution results in substantial firearm and drug seizure

The Dawson Creek RCMP have seized illegal firearms, ammunition, and multiple kilograms of drugs from a residence in Dawson Creek.

Dawson Creek RCMP arrested Tanner Murray, age 30, at approximately 10:30am on August 29, who is being charged with two counts of failing to comply with release order, two counts of assaulting a police officer, and obstructing a police officer.

The local police had reason to believe that there were illegal items in a related residence near Alaska Avenue and 14th Street, Dawson Creek following the arrest of Murray.

A search warrant of the related residence was quickly executed by local RCMP, who seized multiple illegal items including over 1.2 kg of suspected fentanyl and heroin, 4 firearms, over 1000 rounds of ammunition, over 700 grams of cannabis, several prohibited magazines, 500ml of suspected GHB, and over 50 grams of suspected methamphetamine. Police also found over 100 grams of suspect psilocybin mushrooms amongst many other quantities of drugs and other weapons. RCMP are pursuing other charges related to the items seized.

The Dawson Creek RCMP extended their gratitude to the General Investigation Sections from Dawson Creek and the North District, as well as the Police Dog Services, for their assistance with the investigation in a media release.
