Police Dog Services and canine Rev helped RCMP locate and arrest a suspect after he allegedly broke into a rural residence.
The Dawson Creek RCMP received a report on November 29, at around 8pm that a residence near Pouce Coupe was being broken into by 32-year-old Jeffery Parr according to a media release.
Although the local RCMP responded quickly, Jefferey fled the scene on foot into the snow resulting in Police Dog Services being contacted to assist the frontline responding officers.
Parr was located and arrested following a 5km track through the snow, which took the RCMP an hour.
The weather conditions were exceptionally harsh and cold, and police made sure he was immediately given medical attention after being taken into custody.
Parr faces charges of breaching a release order, committing mischief over $5,000, and breaking and entering a residence.
The South Peace RCMP expressed their appreciation and thanked everyone who assisted in the safe apprehension of the suspect, specifically Police Dog Services and canine, Rev.
