A wanted man in the Peace Region was apprehended by frontline police officers after attempting to break into a truck in a Fort St. John parking lot.

Around 8:00 PM on March 18, 2025, Fort St. John RCMP responded to a report of a man reportedly trying to break into a truck parked in a lot near 112 Avenue and 86 Street.
Acting on information from the public, Fort St. John RCMP frontline officers arrived at the scene and identified the suspect as Devin Calliou according to a media release.
Calliou, 29, was wanted in both British Columbia and Alberta on warrants for two counts of breaching a release order and one count of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle before his arrest. He was under a court-imposed curfew requiring him to reside in Prince George at the time, however, he was known to be violating this condition and remained in the Peace Region.
Â
Devin Calliou has an extensive criminal history, including multiple counts of break and enter, failure to comply with release orders, fleeing from police, obstructing law enforcement, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, unauthorized firearm possession, theft, and public mischief. RCMP advised the public not to approach Calliou if he is spotted, as he is known to take extreme actions to avoid arrest.
Â
"This man is well known to police throughout the entire Peace Region", said Staff Sergeant Scott Watson for the Fort St. John RCMP detachment. "The cooperation between the public and police should help stem some of the vehicle thefts that have been recently occurring in the region."
Â
As a result of the initial report from the public, Calliou was also arrested for additional offenses. The BC Crown Prosecution Service has approved criminal charges against him, including theft of a motor vehicle, mischief to property, and two counts of failing to comply with an order.
At the time of writing, Calliou remains in police custody, awaiting a court hearing to determine his bail.
