The ‘Land of Thundering Snow’ traveling exhibit will be hosted at the Fort St. John North Peace Museum until late September.

This exhibit includes many interactive screens, tablets and two large interpretive panels as well as many artefacts and teaches the public about the impacts on the environment and human history avalanches have.

The impacts avalanches have had on human settlement, migration, travel, and transportation are emphasized throughout this new exhibit including the mapping of highways and railways.

This exhibit also explores the many plants and animal species that also thrive in avalanche slide paths, which reveal fresh ground as the snow rolls over the landscape according to the exhibit.

You can view this exhibit at the North Peace Museum until September 25.
