Members of North District GIS (ND GIS) and the Cariboo-Chilcotin Crime Reduction Unit (CC-CRU) were in the Fort Nelson area to support targeted enforcement efforts against local organized crime groups.
Multiple search warrants were executed on properties in the Fort Nelson area by CC-CRU, ND GIS and the Northern Rockies RCMP from November 4 -10 according to a media release from the RCMP.
Over the course of this investigation local RCMP were able to locate and seize 2.6 kilograms of suspected methamphetamine, 1.75 kilograms of marijuana, 2.5 kilograms of suspected cocaine, 400 grams of suspected crack cocaine, five firearms, approximately 150 cartons of illicit cigarettes and $10,000 cash.
“The RCMP is committed to battling organized crime in all communities across Canada. These significant seizures will contribute to the disruption of the drug trade in the Fort Nelson area. Charge approval will be sought for the individuals responsible for causing so much harm to our communities,” said Cst Nathan Smith, Cariboo-Chilcotin Crime Reduction Unit.
Four individuals were arrested and later released as the investigation remains ongoing and additional details may be shared as they become available.
