A frontline RCMP officer in Fort St. John was performing proactive patrols on 93 Avenue at around 5:30pm on September 21, when members of the public signaled for their attention.
The police were informed that an individual who had been riding their scooter had been struck by a truck close to the intersection of 93 Avenue and 100 Street, Fort St John.
The officer noticed an adult woman on the sidewalk and learned that a red pickup truck had hit her before continuing eastbound on 93 Avenue.
“The officer was in the right place at the right time to assist the public and get the victim medical attention,” said Constable Chad Neustaeter, Media Relations Officer for the Fort St John RCMP. “We are asking the public for any information they might have and for the driver to turn themselves in and speak to police about what happened.”
The BC Ambulance Service took the victim to the hospital and the Fort St. John RCMP are continuing to investigate, and anyone with information regarding this incident is urged to contact the Fort St. John RCMP at 250-787-8100.
