During summer maintenance, it was discovered that the brine header at the Pomeroy Sport Centre Oval needed replacing.
This issue has caused delays in preparing the ice surface, and the Oval is now anticipated to be ready by the end of September, roughly a month behind the original timeline.
As a result, public skating on the oval will not be available in September. However, the Fort St. John Elks Speed Skating Club will still hold the Speed Skating BC Fall Long Track Academy on September 28 and 29.
Keep an eye out for our public skating schedule, which will begin in October. The Fall 2024 Recreation and Leisure Guide will be available on Tuesday, September 3.
