Two men have been arrested by local RCMP after fleeing the scene of a significant collision on Rolla Road.

The police were called to a collision at approximately 6:30am May 23, on Rolla Road near 212 Road in Briar. Upon arriving police discovered that an SUV had U-turned in front of a truck on the road, resulting in significant damage to both vehicles.
Both the passenger and driver of the SUV fled the scene when police approached and were tracked into the nearby forest by local RCMP. Police Dog Services and RCMP and a Remotely Piloted Aircraft System (RPAS) Operator were successful in locating the passenger and driver, who were both arrested and held in custody on multiple charges.
According to RCMP 30-year-old Jessie Fougere, was the driver and has been charged with breaching a release order and driving while prohibited, while the passenger, 33-year-old Mitchell Jeff of Williams Lake has been charged with obstructing a police officer and uttering threats.
Additional charges are anticipated against both men, while the investigation is still ongoing.
