Business Façade Improvement Program applications are now being accepted by the City of Fort St. John.
The program is focused around enhancing the visual appeal of downtown businesses through signage improvements and exterior upgrades, which is funded by the Mayor’s Standing Committee on Community Economic Development and the Northern Development Initiative Trust.
These improvements will help to create more vibrant and inviting commercial spaces within our community.
A one-time grant is available to eligible businesses that are located within the designated Development Permit Areas, providing fifty percent of renovation costs per building or project up to $5,000.
Businesses that happen to be located on the corner lot can receive $5,000 for each street-facing side with a maximum of $10,000.
This funding can be used to support a wide variety of exterior enhancements such as façade upgrades, siding replacement, lighting, awnings and other architectural features.
“We are committed to supporting our local businesses. Over the past several years, numerous façade improvement projects have transformed our commercial spaces,” said Mayor Lilia Hansen. “With continued support from the Northern Development Initiative Trust, we’re proud to help shape a more beautiful and welcoming community.”
