Peace Gallery North welcomed dozens of visitors for the opening reception of ‘Awakening’ on April 4th.
Peace Gallery North will be hosting this exhibit throughout the month of April, allowing the residents an opportunity to immerse themselves in these truly stunning paintings.
‘Awakening’ is a collection of beautiful oil paintings on canvas by the amazing local artist Alicia Doerksen, which is her first solo show and will be on display in Fort St. John until April 26th.
Local artists say the event offers not just exposure, but a chance to connect with neighbors and fellow creators.
"It’s nice to have something like this in town — it gives people a reason to get out and support local talent," said Donelda, who has attended several exhibits.
The exhibit is held inside the Cultural Centre at Peace Gallery North, a small but vibrant space located in the heart of downtown which gives local artists a space to showcase their talent and connect with the community.
The gallery is free and open to the public Tuesday – Saturday, 11am – 5pm.
