10 things to do in the North Peace during the Holidays!


1. Wheelchair Basketball is open to all and will be held at Margaret Ma Murray Community School on December 5, from 5:15 – 6:45pm and has no cost

 

2. The opening reception for The Art of Quilting at Peace Gallery North in the Cultural Centre, and will be open December 6, 7 – 8:30pm.

 

3.Gingerbread House Decorating Competition at the North Peace Cultural Centre begins December 6 at 10am and closes December 7 at 1pm.

 

4. Santa Claus Parade and Tree Light Up takes place on December 7, starting with the parade at 5pm and followed by celebrations at Centennial Park including the annual Christmas Tree Light Up.

 

5. Fill the Christmas Kettle Benefit Concert will be held at the Fort St John Royal Canadian Legion on December 8, 6 - 8:30pm.

 

6. The Fort St. John Huskies will be playing on home ice at the North Peace Arena Sunday December 8, starting at 3:00pm.

 

7. Young Scientist is a program that will be held at the Fort St. John Public Library on December 11, 4-5pm for kids aged 6-12. The program is for kids who are curious about the world they live in and want a chance to conduct hands-on experiments.

 

8.The ASL Practice Group will be meeting December 13, 5 – 6pm at the Fort St. John Public Library and is open to anyone 12 and up. Practice signing and build confidence by engaging in conversations in American Sign Language (ASL). Individuals of all skill levels are encouraged to participate.

 

9. The Northern Artisan Collective Merry Christmas Market will be held at the Evangel Chapel, located 10040 100 St, Fort St. John. This market will be open December 13 from 5-9 pm, and December 14 from 10am until 4pm. This event has a $2 admission.

 

10. Studio 2 Stage is presenting their Christmas Dance Recital on December 15, taking place from 11am until 9:30pm, and will be held at the North Peace Cultural Centre. Ticket price is $18
