10 Things to do in the North Peace

1.       Starting February 28 - there will be 100 snowy owls of the North Peace kits available for pickup as long as supplies last at the Fort St. John North Peace Museum. These kits are for kids ages 3 and up and include a fun fact sheet, craft and a treat.


2.       March 1st - The Adult Dodgeball Tournament will take place at the Kids Arena Fieldhouse Pitch from 11 AM to 6 PM. Sign up a team! Prizes will be awarded to the top three teams, as well as for most enthusiastic, best dressed, and most sportsmanlike teams. The North Peace Gymnastics Association will be hosting a beer garden, concession, and 50/50 draw on-site.


3.       March 1st - Annual SD60 Band FUNdraiser is happening at Margaret ‘Ma’ Murray Community School from 9am – 3pm. This event features live performances by the SD60 Band students and is a family-friendly event. There will be snacks, activities including face painting and a dance zone, as well as vendor tables that showcase local talent and products.


4.       March 2nd - Petronas is sponsoring a Free Skate, and everyone is welcome to join! Please note children 8 years and younger must be accompanied on the ice by a guardian aged 16 or older.


5.       March 3rd - The Legion hosts a Youth Dart League every Monday from 6 to 7 PM. Drop-ins are always welcome!


6.       March 5th – Creating Connection Workshop from 5 – 7pm in the meeting room in the Pomeroy Sports Centre. This workshop with local author and registered clinical counselor Sabrina Trobak, is based on building connections by exploring how past experiences influence our desire to connect.


7.       March 7th – The 52nd Annual CDC Talent Show will start at 5pm at the North Peace Cultural Centre. Perform, volunteer, or simply attend the show to support the Talent Show and their fundraising efforts!


8.       March 8th - On Saturday, One Stop will take place at the Totem Mall from 10 AM to 2 PM. Sign up for all your spring and summer activities in one place!


9.       March 8th - Steam punk themed annual Art Auction at the Northern Grand Hotel. The doors open at 5:30pm while the Auction starts at 7:30pm. Tickets are available at the North Peace Cultural Centre box office and the cost is $85 per individual.


10.  March 12th – The monthly gathering for the FSJ Cancer Support Circles Society will be held in the Indigenous Gathering Room at the Northern Lights College from 6:30 – 8pm. These gatherings take place the second Wednesday of every month.
